But one of the cities that really stands out in terms of landscaping splendour, amazing locations and nostalgic history is Jaipur.

States like Kashmir and Sikkim have houses overlooking the Mighty Himalayas, states like Goa have beaches that allure you while Rajasthan is a state full of majestic forts, stunning lakes and dreamy sands.Considered as a luxury for many foreigners from decades, India has mountains, rivers, forests, parks, and  the list goes on. HISTORY

The origin of Jaipur dates back to the year 1727. It was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II who reigned the city from 1699-1744. Vidyadhar Bhattacharya was the principal architect for the construction of the city. The City is strictly built on the principles of vastu shastra, an Indian concept which promises peace, prosperity and well-being. The architecture of the city was pretty advanced according to the prevalent times and till date, remains a source of great admiration and wonder. In 1876, the city was painted pink to welcome The Prince of Wales and thus, Jaipur got its name “The Pink City.” Due to this magical pink hue, the city seems to hold a quaint charm to it, which is impossible to miss and when mixed together with colour-splashing festivals and the vibrant people, make Jaipur a perfect destination for vacation.

CLIMATE

Jaipur is a comparatively warmer state. With semi-arid type weather, the temperature usually remains high all year-round. Jaipur experiences summer from April and continues till mid-July in which the average temperature is 30 degree Celsius. The months of August and September are the monsoon months when frequent showers and thunderstorms are witnessed. November to February are the months when Jaipur observes winters. The average temperature in winters is 5-15 degree Celsius. Though the nights in Jaipur are relatively cooler throughout the year, but being the capital of a desert state, sometimes the climate becomes freezing and teeth-chattering winters are experienced.

BEST TIME TO VISIT JAIPUR

To avoid the scorching heat of the Sun or the humid weather, I suggest the best time to visit Jaipur is the winter months, most guaranteed of them being October. Mornings and evenings are covered with dense fog but it only adds to the mystical touch of Jaipur. Monsoon should be avoided because flight delays, no-entry in tourist places and landslides are quite common during the rainy season. Summers become extremely hot and your much-awaited Jaipur darshan can be distorted by the exhausting humidity. So, the best time to visit this royal city and to experience all its beauties is undoubtedly, the winter season.
